Ventilation is the key to drying. The more air that is circulating the faster it will dry. Our average dry time is approximately six to eight hours. Remember the dirtier the carpet, the more we have to rinse it which means allowing more drying time. It will be completely dry within 24 hours.
If your shoes or socks are clean, you can walk on the carpet right away. If we have put a fiber protection on your carpet, we advise keeping the traffic down to a minimum for at least two hours so the fiber protection can penetrate better.
If a spot reappears within thirty days, so do we. There are a few ways to prevent a spot from wicking back. One way is to put a towel with a weighted object over the area where the spot was for the 24 hour drying time. If it is a constant reappearing problem, then the spot may need to be treated as a repair doing additional work such as lifting the carpet up, cleaning the back side of the carpet and possible pad replacement.
This depends upon whether you are cleaning for appearance reasons of for health reasons. For appearance reasons only, we suggest six to nine months or when you start to notice soiling. For health reasons, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends a family with animals living in a dusty environment should have their carpet cleaned every one to two months. How dirty would a white towel get in your house if you walked on it for six months without cleaning it?
Yes. Have you ever tried washing a pan that did not have a non-stick coating such as oil or butter on it? Even manufacturers are building fiber protection into their carpets. Although your carpet may have built in fiber protection, you should still re-enhance it after cleaning, just like you would keep a non-stick pan oiled when cooking.
Every situation is unique and in most cases, no. Pet odor can be very difficult to remove. We need to be able to treat the source of where the odor is coming from. In more severe cases, urine will soak through the face fiber of the carpet, into the carpet backing, the padding, and the subfloor. With specialized restoration work, we can help minimize these problems.
